Report from the Åland islands trip, May 2010

Multicultural travellers on the sea
Five members of The Multicultural Finland association (MCF) travelled to Mariehamn (Åland islands) to discuss co-operations and procedures in integration and immigration work with The Nordic institute of Åland (NIPÅ) and The Peace Institute. Hence the association gathered new persons - after a period of idle members - travelling slow with ship over the sea gave plenty of time for discussions, meet and greet. There was plenty of input and planning on the way to and from the Åland islands as well as interesting anecdotes and a unexpected - yet all too common - meetings with the sulk Finnish boarder police.
